VersaTuner is tuning software for Mazda vehicles. It is a Windows application that allows reflashing/remapping (chip tuning) of Series 1 Mazda RX-8 engine ECUs, data logging, tune editing and diagnostics.
Unlike other apps that target only professional tuners, VersaTuner makes Series 1 Mazda RX-8 1.3l RENESIS tuning accessible to everyone. Included dyno-tested prebuilt tunes allow adding horsepower or increasing fuel economy with just a few clicks. More experienced users can use the Tune Editor to get access to dozens of adjustable engine tables, maps and parameters. Professional tuners can use VersaTuner Professional to tune multiple vehicles and build locked and encrypted tunes that protect their Mazda tuning know-how.
VersaTuner can be ordered globally and can be downloaded immediately after purchasing. All you need is a Windows laptop or tablet, a compatible hardware interface (cable) to connect your computer to the car and you can start tuning your Series 1 Mazda RX-8 today.

Create Turbocharged/Supercharged Tunes
The OEM Mazda RX-8 ECU tuning tables are limited to low loads of naturally aspirated engines and are quickly maxed out when a turbo/supercharger is installed. VersaTuner allows you to edit the axis values of tuning tables, so you can precisely control the engine even at higher than stock loads or RPMs.
It can also automatically interpolate the table values so that engine operation at normal loads remains unchanged. All this allows you to create robust and accurate tunes for turbocharged or supercharged Mazda RX-8 vehicles.
No Flash Count Limit
Mazda RX-8 ECU has a built in flash counter that will lock the ECU after a certain number of reflashes.
Unlike some other tuning tools, VersaTuner can reflash the ECU without incrementing the flash counter. This lets you remap your car thousands of times* without the need to replace the ECU.

This is a list of currently available free VersaTuner tunes for 2003-2008 Mazda RX-8 (Series 1) with the 1.3l RENESIS engine. All these tunes can be flashed both with VersaTuner Lite and the full version. These tunes were professionally developed on real cars and their performance was measured on a chassis dyno. Editable Tables and Constants
Full version of VersaTuner includes a tune editor that allows you to change the aspects of your Mazda ECU operation related to power delivery and fuel efficiency. Tuning your Series 1 Mazda RX-8 ECU is done by changing the tables and constants that the ECU uses internally to calculate load targeting, fueling, injection, ignition, interpret sensor values, etc.

Logging Parameters
When you need to analyze how your Mazda performs before or after ECU tuning, you will drive the car and record the values of different parameters.
